Rich is the Co-Founder and Co-Lead Pastor of NewStory Church on the north side of Chicago. Rich is gifted as a teacher-prophet with a passion for learning, teaching and engaging in the beauty and mess of our world. Rich authored the e-book Just Step In, and was featured in a Christianity Today article entitled Racial Reconciliation Through Small Groups. Rich champions a partnership with the All-American Nursing Home, #ChalkTheBlock and serves alongside the 48th Ward Alderman to help restore God’s dream for Chicago. In his free time he loves to run, read, spend time with Dori and their two daughters, Charis and Nia. Rich also loves meeting new people and he’ll take any cup of coffee you offer him.
Dori Gorman is the Co-Founder and Co-Lead Pastor of NewStory Church on the north side of Chicago, Illinois. She holds a Masters of Divinity degree from Emmanuel Christian Seminary. She is gifted as a shepherd-prophet, with a passion for preaching, discipleship and coming alongside the forgotten. Dori has pioneered several initiatives in Chicago, including Friends of Swift, a fundraising organization for Swift Elementary School and Club StuCo, an after-school club for middle school students. She is honored to partner with Stadia’s Bloom ministry to help women maximize their role in starting churches. As a part of Bloom, Dori recently published a book, Anonymous: Naming the God of Esther and the Women Who Plant Churches. In her free time, she loves to read, rock climb, play basketball and go on adventures with her family—Rich, Charis and Nia.
As the Worship and Discipleship Pastor, Sergio oversees an incredible team of worship leaders, artists, musicians and small group leaders. Originally from Chile, Sergio moved to Chicago in August of 2017 from Johnson City, Tennessee where he completed his Masters of Divinity degree at Emmanuel Christian Seminary and served as the Senior Hospital Chaplain in the area. In addition to playing the drums and the guitar, Sergio enjoys watching soccer (Viva Chile!) and spending time with his wife, Denisse, and their three sons, SG, Mo and Habacuc.
Josh is the Next Chapter Student Director at NewStory. He has a passion for working with students, especially those with a missing male influence in their lives. In his free time, Josh loves to act, direct plays and films, go on bike rides, practice carpentry, paint and watch sports. He loves working with community businesses to plan large events and help students feel a part of their neighborhood. Josh’s hope is to let people know Jesus loves them and that they are accepted just as they are. Josh raises additional support in order to serve on staff at NewStory.
