Scripture

“But if I spoke the truth, why did you strike me?” (John 18:23 NIV)

They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him, and then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on his head. They put a staff in his right hand. Then they knelt in front of him and mocked him. “Hail, king of the Jews!” they said (Matthew 27:28-29, NIV).

Meditation

Reflect on the cost of authenticity and truth-telling in the face of opposition. How does Jesus' willingness to endure mockery and ridicule challenge us to embrace vulnerability and authenticity in our own lives? What are the risks and rewards of speaking truth in a world that often rejects it?

Consider the emotional and psychological impact of bullying on its victims. In what ways can we extend compassion and support to those who have experienced bullying, following Jesus' example of solidarity with the marginalized and oppressed?

Action

Take a piece of sidewalk chalk and write a message of kindness, encouragement, and affirmation on the sidewalk. These messages could include uplifting quotes, words of support, or affirmations of worthiness and dignity, etc.
