Our Leadership Team
Our Leadership Philosophy
One of the fundamental questions we, as Christians, must ask ourselves is "Where do we need to connect and identify with our society and where should we model a contrast to our society?" Nowhere is this question more important than when it comes to our leadership structure, decision making, and utilization of power.
At NewStory we seek to live into a collaborative, flat, trinitarian feminist leadership philosophy and structure.
Our trinitarian feminist leadership philosophy is where it all starts. The structure is simply the way we seek to live into our vision of leadership and community. We have modeled our leadership philosophy after our theological understanding of God as Trinity in which we emphasize collaboration, contextualization, vulnerability, long-term vision, aesthetic, compassion, constructive feedback, relationship, participation, sustainability, and empathy over competition, command, domination, control, colonialism, drive for individual success, silo's, consolidated power, and productivity.
As such, we have defined four interdependent roles the leadership team seeks to embody as we serve the church:
1. Serve as CONNECTORS that bring the teams together
2. Serve as COORDINATORS that help each team achieve objectives the team has collectively identified as priorities
3. Serve as CARETAKERS that are committed to pastoring the different teams and making sure there is a relational connection as well as a discipling component for each team.
4. Serve as CATALYSTS that help stir-up creativity and vision.
